How the word ‘Water closet’ originated:
After fulfilling the first call of nature, the first man looked back. Surprised at what he saw, he screamed “What? Eh Close it!” and covered it with dirt. After him, people pronounced it so fast it became /wat ə r closət/.
But as technology develops, so does the language. Nowadays, people use water for dirt, so they say : “Water, close it!” This is also said so fast it became /Water clozət/ (Water, finish it up!) Saying that, he flushes the toilet.
